Wonderful walking in Worchester

The Albatross

Thursday 07 June 2019

We thought we’d go for a bit of a countryside stroll, we chose an easy one that Tuna had found as we’re both fat, and I’m currently very unfit. I’ve also had a lot of stiff muscles, so wanted to get started on this stuff slowly. It was a cracking day, nice and sunny and high teens so prefect for a ramble.

Arriving in Martley, we got our bearings and headed off down the pathway, through some pretty forest, over a steepish hill with lovely views to a spot down by the River Teme.

Then off through a tangled field of Canola (it was still public pathway apparently, and we definitely weren’t the only ones using it), then up this massive steep hill. This is the easy walk remember.

Finally, we descended on a fairly shallow gradient back towards town, stopping in at the local church to see some 12th century paintings and have a quick chat with the vicar.

Up the road to the Admiral Rodney, for a really top-class meal in the sunshine with a well-deserved pint.

It was an hour back to home, so we’d both stiffened up a tad upon arrival. A bit of a stretch and a 20 minute walk through the paddocks got things moving again.

Travelling day tomorrow but with one amazing spot on the way which I’m already a froth about. Very excited.
