BBQ on (near) the Thames

We made it to London yesterday, then had a long nap. Remarkably, I feel ok for having spent a day at work then travelling for 24 hours. Despite many, many, many unsubtle hints, The Albatross didn’t upgrade me to business class!

I woke up at 4.30am which wasn’t too bad as I went to sleep at 7.00pm. We decided to go for a walk into Richmond just for a bit of exercise and to try to get on to the local time zone. As it was only 6.00am nothing was open, but it was lovely to just go for a stroll. There was no one around, it was quiet and it was great to stretch the legs, and we eventually found a coffee.

Once our lovely hosts, Drs Sumo and Hamo, woke up we went for another stroll into Richmond to stock up of supplies for the bbq lunch. Good thing they have a nanna trolley as we had much food and drinks to cart home. Around 7 years ago when we first landed in London (from South America) we went out for a very nice bbq lunch on the Thames. So we thought we would try to replicate that wonderful idea. We had a bbq on Dr Hamo’s brand spanking new bbq, never before used!

However our bbq wasn’t on the banks of the Thames but in the backyard. Although the Thames is just two streets over.

Shaz-bot dropped in for lunch and there was much fun and the festivities went well into the night.
